Dwennimmen is a 5013C non-profit operating in the Central Pennsylvania surrounding areas (and beyond). Our goal when we established the Dwennimmen African Dance Community was to preserve and share the culture of African Dance and drumming in our community. With that goal in mind, we want to lay a foundation to form a healthy common unity that is built on our own individual humility and our collect strength. We continue to focus on ensuring that our community members are healthy physically, mentally, and socially by offering a variety of opportunities that bring our community together to support each other in our pursuit of a total mind, body, and soul mindset.
Dwennimmen African Dance Community (DADC) is a passion driven, diverse African dance group that believes in the tradition and art of African dance and drumming. With the use of the dance and the music of the drums we can bring together the entire community, no matter age, color, and or sex.
Dwennimmen African Dance Community has had the honor to perform at many events, including the Pennsylvania State Capital Diversity Day event, The Dauphin County Cultural Fest, Nathaniel Gadsden Kwanzaa Event, Messiah University Black Student Union Karibu, as well as the Imani festival in Carlisle, the multiagency State Black History month program, the It Makes a Village annual fundraiser event, along with many others.
Join us this year for our fifth-annual SoulFit Festival on October 5, 2024 (location and more detail to be announced)
